GN Hearing Introduces Custom Made Hearing Aids in a Modern Earbud Design

June 20 2022, 01:10
GN Hearing and its Beltone and ReSound brands, part of GN Group, expanded its product line with the new Custom hearing aids, which are weatherproof, rechargeable, custom earbuds, that last all day on a single battery charge. GN says the new Custom hearing aids are the most advanced rechargeable product available from its brands, restoring natural hearing in a comfortable, Bluetooth-enabled design, available in modern colors. A bridge-product to make hearing-aids closer to consumer TWS earbuds.

Combining the best of in-ear custom-molded hearing-aids and modern true wireless earbuds, the new Beltone Imagine Custom (ReSound Custom) are an attempt to converge with consumer  trends and leverage all the technology already available in its Jabra TWS consumer/business designs. GN says that its custom hearing aids are molded to fit users unique ear canals to provide all-day comfort, while the in the ear design makes it easier for users to wear glasses or face masks.

With sound that adapts to every situation, the new Custom hearing aids provide natural hearing in any situation, greater spatial awareness and a truly personalized sound, according to GN. As the company details, the Custom hearing aids deliver up to 30% better speech understanding in noise and 1-2 dB more directional benefit when compared to existing GN products. The new design incorporates what GN names "All-Access Directionality," which means the hearing aids automatically adjust to surroundings in real time, enabling the brain to select sounds naturally so that no matter the situation, users can enjoy conversations and sounds without being cut off from their surroundings.

These custom hearing aids are also suitable for those with active lifestyles as they are weatherproof-and-sweatproof and nano-coated inside and out for continuous wear and easy cleaning. The design offers all day comfort and streaming with superior sound quality compared to standard hearing-aids, even in the toughest listening environments. An effort to make people think again about hearing aids by offering the most advanced medical-grade technology in a smart, stylish design.

And these are Bluetooth-connected hearing-aids. Users will be able to connect to life easier with hands-free phone and FaceTime calls for iPhone and iPad with a simple tap of a button. They can also easily stream music and take calls from Android smartphones directly to the ears. Additionally, users get up to 24 hours of quality sound on a single charge, so they can feel confident about joining any conversation throughout the day. GN doesn't reveal details for now about the Bluetooth radio and built-in chip, hopefully being a platform ready to support LE Audio and LC3 with a future update.

Using advanced technology and built-in microphones, the Custom hearing aids adapt automatically to different sound environments, allowing users to stay in control even in extra-noisy environments. Users can easily adjust their hearing aids with the respective Beltone or ReSound apps available for iOS or Android smartphones.

GN also explains that these hearing aids offer medical-grade, customized, full-time hearing support and care, whereas the recently launched Jabra Enhance Plus are intended for people needing occasional hearing support.

According to GN's internal multi-market research, 58% of people try headphones to help with their hearing, before moving onto hearing aids. The new Custom design will allow a new stylish, custom made hearing aid option, that is complemented with expertise and support from hearing care professionals.

"GN Hearing is challenging conventions and setting the stage for an entirely new standard. This new sleek design will make people think again and encourage them to take care of their hearing health by offering the most advanced hearing aid technology in a design they will love,” explains GN Hearing CEO, Gitte Aabo.

"Beltone is committed to creating innovative hearing aid technology and incorporating stylish designs that will allow our patients to feel confident in wearing their hearing aids in all aspects of life," says Beltone President, Mike Halloran. "Because of their modern design, these new custom rechargeable hearing aids offer a different approach to treating hearing loss than what is traditionally thought of for hearing aids, and we are excited for those ready to start their hearing health journey with Beltone."

The Beltone/ReSund Custom earbuds come with its own unique charger - since the earbuds are custom-molded GN also designed a customized case containing specially created inserts made to match each hearing aid for a seamless and reliable recharge.

The new hearing aids are planned for Regulatory clearance and rolled out globally starting with the US on June 29, 2022, in both ITC (In-The-Canal) and ITE (In-the-Ear) styles. Users will be able to book an appointment for evaluation and setup at any of the thousands Beltone/ReSound hearing centers. During the appointment, users will be guided for a tailored hearing experience based on their unique hearing profile.

The Custom hearing aids are offered in a choice of colors and will be available in a new In-style anthracite color or Blend-in hair and skin tones.
