The technology innovation firm says this is the world’s first radio transmitter built purely from computing power - a turning point in radio design and a real enabler for the ‘Internet of Things’ (IoT) and 5G technology.

Cedar Audio and Merging Technologies have agreed on a patent license and now announced the development of a new, 64-bit CEDAR for Pyramix. Cedar Audio’s Retouch introduced the concept of spectral editing in February 2002. Since then, many software companies have licensed the CEDAR's technology and, in 2014, after a dispute with a US company, “the Retouch patent”, was validated.

According to a new research by Ipsos Research, over 9 in 10 want the way they operate their car radio to remain unchanged, and would not want it changed into a dashboard app. The research also found that, in the car, CD usage is over three times that of any other digital music service.
