As audio product development surges forward at a breakneck pace, the 147th Audio Engineering Society International Convention is the premier destination for audio product developers to enhance their trade. Each year the Product Development Track presents four days of themed Workshops during the AES Convention. Building on last year’s theme “Make Audio Matter,” the 2019 Product Development Track is built on the theme “The New Era of Product Development.”

The Audio Engineering Society has announced the incoming Officers and Governors following the 2019 Board of Governors elections, with terms beginning January 1, 2020. The Society’s membership has elected Jonathan Wyner as President-Elect and re-elected Richard Wollrich as Treasurer.

Audio Industry Returns to New York for 147th International Audio Engineering Society Convention

Now solidly established as an annual tradition for the whole audio industry, and particularly for the professional audio sector, the International Audio Engineering Society Convention returns to New York City, October 16 – 19, at the Javits Center. Registration is now open, and as in previous years, the AES New York 2019 will be co-located with the independent NAB Show New York, open October 16-17 in an adjacent exhibition hall. AES New York registration includes access to both exhibition halls.

The Audio Engineering Society announced its second AES International Conference on Headphone Technology which will be held on August 27–29, 2019 in San Francisco, CA, USA. The conference will focus mainly on Mobile Spatial Audio, Individualization, Assistive Listening and Audio for Augmented Reality. Anyone doing research in the field is invited to participate. Remember also, attendance is limited, so register asap.

Nadja Wallaszkovits Assumes Role as President of the Audio Engineering Society

The AES announced the ascension of Nadja Wallaszkovits to the office of President, taking on the role as of January 1, 2019. "Having worked with Nadja for many years as part of the AES team, we look forward to having her serve in the role of president, as the Society continues our mission to promote science and education in the field of audio engineering. Nadja’s knowledge of audio engineering technologies and experience within the AES will be a valuable asset in the coming year," states AES Past-President David Scheirman.

Audio Engineering Society Appoints Colleen Harper as Executive Director

The Audio Engineering Society announced the appointment of Colleen Harper as the Society’s Executive Director, effective January 21, 2019. Harper takes the position from Bob Moses, who decided to step down as the AES executive director after six and a half years in the role. “With the addition of Colleen’s proven record of leadership, we expect 2019 to be a banner year for the Society,” stated AES President Nadja Wallaszkovits.

Faital and Alpine Electronics Establish Business Alliance for Car Audio

Japanese car audio and navigation systems manufacturer Alpine Electronics, Inc. and Italian automotive speaker manufacturer Faital (Fabric Italiana Altoparlanti) S.p.A., have reached an agreement for a capital and business alliance to strengthen their in-car entertainment and audio business. Expanding on the Alpine share investment in the Faital Group, the two companies are pursuing a common vision in order to offer new high-end car audio products for premium applications and develop further integration of the brand's portfolios.

146th Audio Engineering Society AES Dublin 2019 Convention

The Audio Engineering Society (AES) has announced the organizing committee and keynote address for the upcoming AES Dublin Convention, taking place March 20 – 23, 2019, at the Convention Centre in Dublin, Ireland. For its 146th International Convention, the association makes its first trip to Dublin, Ireland, set to “Excite Your Ears” as the preeminent European pro audio event of the year. Audio Industry Connects at 145th Audio Engineering Society International New York Convention

Celebrating decades of professional audio leadership in its 70th anniversary year, the Audio Engineering Society raised the bar yet again with its 145th International Convention, the place to be to celebrate and experience the past, present and future of audio engineering technologies and techniques. Contrary to typical event patterns, for the second year in a row in New York City, the Convention’s exhibition floor was still packed at closing time – the Jacob Javits Center staff had to plead for a cleared hall with attendees who did not want their experience to end.
