Steinberg updates Nuendo to 6.5

Steinberg announced the forthcoming release of Nuendo 6.5 in the third quarter of 2014. The new point update for Nuendo post and audio production software adds refinements and new features to better serve the demands brought to post-production engineers, including integration with Yamaha’s Nuage system. According to Steinberg, "6.5 streamlines many areas of the software, comes with several new signal processors and has a heavy focus on its ADR taker system.”

The Swiss based manufacturer of high performance home entertainment systems Revox GmbH, has appointed TC Group Americas (TCGA) as its North American Distributor. Both companies see real sales potential in particular for the Revox Joy network music players, and TCGA’s distribution network in North America will help realize their goals.

London music start-up ROLI, whose award-winning product, the Seaboard GRAND keyboard, met with unexpectedly strong demand creating waiting lists of up to a year, is now poised to scale production and expand globally. The music technology start-up designed the Seaboard GRAND keyboard, reimagining the piano keyboard as a soft, continuous surface with polyphonic pitch bend, vibrato and per-note dynamic changes. The concept amazed visitors at the NAMM Show 2014, marrying the intuitiveness of a traditional instrument with the versatility of digital technology.

The Dynacord AXM 12A is a versatile active loudspeaker designed for monitoring, PA, fill or delay duties – even operation as a three-way system with a sub extension is possible. The new model uses as onboard 520W Class-D amplifier to achieve high levels of SPL (max 128 dB), with an integrated DSP for optimal performance on loud stages. Its compact dimensions and a weight of less than 15 kg assure easy mobility.

The XL2 Data Explorer Software version 1.10 release adds level statistics and spectral calculations, while the update also increases the presentation capabilities. The update to this PC reporting software from NTi Audio is available for download free of charge for all XL2 Data Explorer users.

Samson Technologies has a new addition to their already impressively affordable and reliable line of monitor speakers. The MediaOne BT Active Studio Monitors with Bluetooth are available in three models, sold as packaged stereo pairs. The MediaOne BT3 ($99), MediaOne BT4 ($149) and MediaOne BT5 ($199) monitors are the latest products from Samson that feature the ability to wirelessly connect to music sources via Bluetooth. From 15 to 18 May 2014, visitors flocked to the Munich MOC and the 33rd High End Show confirmed its position as the world’s most important location for high-quality audio and consumer electronics with 452 exhibitors from 40 countries (+25%) and 17,855 visitors (+10%). The show, promoted by the High End Society is now more international than ever.

PreSonus announced that it's now shipping free SL Room Control, which is an easy-to-use system-control and performance-monitoring software for StudioLive AI Active Integration loudspeakers. SL Room Control connects to the loudspeaker-management processor on each AI-series loudspeaker. It works wirelessly or over a wired (Ethernet) LAN. SL Room Control provides access to pro system-alignment controls for customizing each StudioLive AI-series speaker on the network. It compensates for room anomalies, eliminates feedback, and more.

Crown Audio expanded its DriveCore Install (DCi) Series amplifier range with the introduction of its DCi Network Display 8|600ND and 4|1250ND power amplifiers, featuring front-panel status displays and AVB (Audio Video Bridging) connectivity. The new eight- and four-channel DCi Network Display amplifiers combine DriveCore technology with AVB and are compatible with Harman’s HiQnet Audio Architect system setup and control software. Both offer direct drive “constant voltage” capabilities for 70Vrms and 100Vrms amplification without the need for a step-up transformer.
