Focusrite Announces RedNet Control 2.0 Supporting Control of Larger Systems

At the 141st AES Convention, in Los Angeles, CA, Focusrite has announced a major update to its RedNet Control software system that provides remote control for products in the company’s RedNet range of Dante-based audio-over-IP systems. According to Focusrite, RedNet users all overt the world are employing and planning ever-larger RedNet systems, and RedNet Control 2.0 was developed in response to this trend.

OPPO Digital introduced an updated version of its HA-2 portable headphone amplifier and DAC, the HA-2SE. The digital-to-analog converter (DAC) chip was upgraded to the ES9028Q2M, the top-of-the-line from ESS Technology’s SABRE32 Reference series for portable designs. The new DSC6000 family of Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) oscillators from Microchip provides semiconductor-grade reliability and frequency stability over a wide temperature range. Clock reference applications include wearables, IoT and under-bonnet automotive products, allowing less than half the current consumption of the lowest-power quartz-based oscillators. The new devices are able to withstand x500 more shock and x5 more vibration than a quartz oscillator.
