Messe Frankfurt Confirms The End of Musikmesse Trade Show

Top management at Messe Frankfurt is hoping that the pandemic will end soon, allowing the company to return to its normal business activities and generate revenue. While the first trade show to return to one of the world's best fairgrounds will be Prolight+Sound, scheduled to return 26 to 29 April 2022, Musikmesse will now definitely be left behind. Messe Frankfurt confirms the intention to end the Musikmesse trade show and the associated local festival.

ISE Announces Three-Month Postponement: ISE 2022 Rescheduled for 10-13 May 2022

After consultation with the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) exhibitor and visitor community and in the light of the increasing impact of the Omicron variant in Spain and around the world, Integrated Systems Events announced that ISE 2022, scheduled for February 1-4, has been postponed and will now take place on May 10-13, 2022 at the Fira de Barcelona Gran Vía.

NAMM Announces NAMM Show's Return to Anaheim... in June 2022

As more and more trade shows scheduled for the last quarter of 2021 are being cancelled (or should be), the industry is moving on and starting to plan for 2022. The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced that The NAMM Show, the annual “family reunion” of the global music, sound, and entertainment technology industry, will reconvene in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center on June 3–5, 2022.

Following other trade show cancelations already announced for the year in Europe, Messe Berlin and gfu Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH have jointly announced that IFA 2021 will not take place in September as a physical live event, as originally planned. The decision was made following detailed conversations with public health experts and multiple stakeholders. The leading trade show for consumer and home electronics will return only in 2022.

The Consumer Technology Association (CTA) announced CES 2022, the world's most influential technology event, will return to Las Vegas in 2022. Following a successful all-digital CES 2021, CTA will convene the tech industry in-person and digitally, giving a global audience access to major brands and startups, as well as the world's most-influential leaders and industry advocates. CES heads back to Las Vegas Jan. 5-8, 2022, with Media Days taking place Jan. 3-4, 2022.

High End Munich Show Postponed From September 2021 to May 2022

The High End 2021 trade show, planned to take place in Munich from September 9 to 12, 2021, has now been moved to May 2022 due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The new parallel event, the IPS – International Parts + Supply, is also postponed. The High End Society Service GmbH reached this decision after a reassessment of the current situation and in close cooperation with the Board of the High End Society.

ALTI-Expo 2021 Reschedules to October 24-25 With InfoComm

With the announcement that AVIXA had decided to reschedule its InfoComm show from June to October 2021, other synchronized events are also forced to reschedule. That is what happens with the ALTI's (Audio & Loudspeaker Technologies International) own event, promoted just prior to the opening of the exhibition days of InfoComm at a nearby hotel. ALTI-Expo 2021, which was previously scheduled for June 14 & 15, has been rescheduled to October 24 & 25, 2021.

AVIXA Reschedules InfoComm Show to End of October 2021

The Audiovisual Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA), owner of the InfoComm tradeshow, issued a letter to the industry and its community confirming a postponement of the InfoComm 2021 Show from June to October 2021. Not exactly the best news for a lot of professionals and companies in the AV industry, but certainly not unexpected given the circumstances of the pandemic. The 2021 edition of InfoComm is scheduled to take place in Orlando, Florida.

Event and Installation Technology Industry Wants To Return to In-Person Trade Events

In October 2020, Integrated Systems Europe (ISE), AVIXA, and CEDIA commissioned a study targeting AV professionals to evaluate the industry's appetite for conferences and events following COVID-19. The research, completed before news of a COVID-19 vaccine, was carried out to gauge interest in face-to-face, digital and hybrid event formats. The results show that 98% of the audience missed attending in-person AV industry events.
