Martin Audio Announces Expanded New Product Line Up at Prolight+Sound 2017

At this year’s Prolight+Sound Show in Frankfurt, Martin Audio unveiled an ambitious line up of ten new products across multiple categories including Line Arrays, Stage Monitors and Amplifiers. Its like the British company is creating a completely new catalogue, placing new solutions available for different market demands, always leveraging their key technologies, including Coaxial Differential Dispersion drivers and the fundamental approach from their successful MLA line arrays on their new Wavefront Precision series.

Roy and Teddy are the chosen names for the new flagship combo and compact stage monitor added to the Swiss manufacturer’s expanding portfolio. This year’s Frankfurt Musikmesse and Prolight+Sound shows provide the ideal launchpad for these Schertler Group’s latest products. The first, designed for all amplification needs of acoustic instruments. The second, a new and very attractive take on one of the most important tools for musicians' performance on stage.

In its continuous quest to bring the benefits of in-ear monitoring to all musicians, during the NAMM 2017 show, Ultimate Ears Pro released a device that makes personal stage monitoring simple with a plug-and-play solution, the UE Pro Sound Tap. This compact stage accessory plugs directly into any on-stage speaker and taps into the sound mix, passing sound through, without impacting the system. Musicians can then plug in their custom or universal in-ear monitors, and turn the existing stage monitor mix into an in-ear mix.

This Test Bench characterizes the 10N501, a distributed neodymium magnet motor 10” woofer from Ukrainian pro sound OEM manufacturer MAG Audio. The MAG 10N501’s removable self-centering motor system is comprised of 12 28 mm × 8 mm polished neodymium slugs sandwiched between an 8 mm front plate and a two-part, cleverly designed T-yoke. Meyer Sound confirmed a series of new products to be unveiled at Prolight+Sound 2016 in Frankfurt, Germany. Focusing on the live entertainment and events aspect of the professional audio industry, the Californian company selected the Frankfurt show to introduce its new MJF-208 Stage Monitor, a compact version of the popular MJF wedge monitor series. Meyer Sound will also debut the MDM-5000 high-power distribution module, and the LYON-WXT extended vertical line array element.

QSC Audio has announced a free firmware download upgrade for its TouchMix mixer range, adding reliability and stability along with a new multi-language info system. The 2.1 firmware adds support for MIDI-over-USB foot-switches, more scene recall functions, the ability to use auxiliary mixes as sub-groups and improved Wi-Fi connectivity.

dB Technologies announced the new high performance TH “theater” series stage monitors, starting with the DVX-DM12 TH and DVX-DM15 TH active two-way models. Featuring either 12” or 15” neodymium woofers with 4” voice coil coupled with 1.4” exit HF neo compression driver with 2.5” voice coil, the cabinets have rotatable HF drivers for left or right configuration.
