LYNX Technik Incorporates AI Technology from Audionamix for Real-Time Complex Noise Removal in Hardware

Among the many announcements of more hardware purposely designed for broadcast and content production operations, at the NAB 2022 Show in Las Vegas, German company Lynx Technik AG unveiled a new hardware module in its renowned yellobrik series, that features Artificial Intelligence from Audionamix. The IDC (Instant Dialog Cleaner) 1411 yellobrik module was designed for operations with serial digital video signals, and incorporates the AI technology from Audionamix for effective noise removal directly in the signal flow.

Speech recognition platforms suffer from poor recognition rates in a noisy environment such as kids in the back seat of cars, radio, ambulance passing by, or heavy rain. Video conferencing becomes ineffective when one of the participants is in a noisy environment like a coffee shop. Israel’s Hi Auto developed a software-only speech enhancement and speaker separation system that eliminates the most challenging noises and focus only on the speaker.

Audionamix, the software company specializing in audio source separation, introduced its new Instant Dialogue Cleaner (IDC) plug-in, its first real-time, cloudless solution. IDC offers unique and effective dialogue cleaning technology through an intuitive interface, and is compatible with many post-production and broadcast workflows. The software is available for pre-launch sale and will officially be released on July 17.

Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs, announced a breakthrough in speech separation technology at an annual R&D open house held in Tokyo. The research lab has created the world's first technology that separates in real time the simultaneous speech of multiple unknown speakers recorded with a single microphone. It’s a key step towards building machines that can interact in noisy environments, in the same way that humans can have meaningful conversations in the presence of many other conversations.

The new plug-in is an evolution of Audionamix’ state of the art technology, which automatically separates a master recording’s vocal track from its accompanying music track. With a simple interface, the new SVC plug-in focuses on speech volume control over background elements in mono or stereo recordings.
