Parasound has introduced a more-affordable phono preamplifier for a new generation of analog LP and turntable enthusiasts. The Parasound Halo JC 3 Jr. (aka 'Junior') reflects the company's latest collaboration with the legendary Vendetta designer, John Curl, and circuit-board wizard, Carl Thompson. Introduced at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest 2017 show, the new Parasound Halo JC 3 Jr. stereo phono preamplifier is about half the price of the company's $2,995 premium dual-mono Halo JC 3+.

Hafler Launches New Line of Phono Stages and SUTs for Turntables

Following the resurgence of 33 RPM records and turntables, Hafler has launched a series of devices aimed squarely at this market that include two active phono stages and two step-up transformers (SUTs). The series includes the Hafler PH50 high-performance phono stage for moving magnet (dynamic) cartridges, and the Hafler PH60 phono stage for moving coil cartridges with a class-A transformerless head-amp design. The Hafler PH34 and PH44 SUTs employ ultra high performance Jensen Transformers.
