Harman Professional Solutions Introduces the Connected PA Concept

With people getting used to store their personal profiles on smartphones and wearable devices, getting connected to the cloud and having smart systems at home and the office automatically adjusting to their preferences, why not enable the same level of connectivity to the tools musicians need to do their daily work? That’s the concept Harman pioneered with a first step on the Connected PA, demonstrated at NAMM 2017.

Powersoft has announced that it is sponsoring the multi-platform PAcalculate app, which runs on mobile devices such as Android, iOS, Windows-Phone, and Blackberry — including smartphones and tablets. Developed by Brusi Acoustics, a consulting firm for electroacoustic and an independent laboratory for loudspeaker directivity testing, it is marketed by Doctor Pro Audio, a leading Spanish-speaking web portal.

Sound recognition and voice search technology specialists, SoundHound Inc., has enhanced its popular music app, SoundHound, to include “the most advanced voice interface of any mobile app, enabling a hands-free experience.” The updated SoundHound music discovery app now enables hands-free search, discovery and play, including ability to add songs to a Spotify playlist, all using the company’s Houndify natural language voice search engine.

Larson Davis announced a new vibration meter complete with Wi-Fi connectivity and free mobile app for control and data visualization, allowing for general vibration measurement applications, as well as hand-arm vibration measurements and whole body vibration measurements according to ISO standards. The new HVM200 solution features a replaceable lithium battery, removable micro SD memory card, USB and Wi-Fi.

Acoustica Beyma has recently announced its new App, Beyma Speakers, allowing full access to its extended professional speaker catalogue, directly on mobile phones and tablets, both Apple and Android. At the same time, the Spanish manufacturer continues to expand its website information, now with support for Chinese language.
