Bold North Audio Launches BWF-8001 Abaca Fiber Cone 8-Inch Woofer

With a Klippel optimized abaca fiber cone and rubber surround, the newest Bold North Audio 8" subwoofer, the BWF-8001, delivers heavy duty power and robust sound for two-way systems, tower speakers, or high-end home theaters. This latest design from MISCO, the St. Paul, MN-headquartered company, is an 8" (203 mm) stamped frame subwoofer, rated for 150 Watts program power and totally designed and assembled in the US. Test Bench: The BWX-6501 Midbass from MISCO’s Bold North Audio Line

This Test Bench characterizes the very recent BWX-6501 Midbass driver from MISCO’s Bold North Audio Line. MISCO (Minneapolis Speaker Co.) is the oldest OEM driver manufacturer in the US, founded in 1949, and Bold North Audio is its new brand, launched in 2019. The Bold North lineup was recently expanded to include two new 6.5” XBL2 motor woofers. These new models, all designed and manufactured in MISCO’s own facility in St. Paul, Minnesota, feature dual inside-outside copper shorting rings in the motor to greatly reduce distortion. American audio solutions manufacturer MISCO announced the introduction of the BWF-6503, a 6.5" red carbon fiber woofer, and the BMW-4001, a 4" carbon fiber midwoofer to its growing line of premium and performance-based drivers. The two new designs are Klippel Verified and manufactured under the Bold North Audio brand in MISCO’s facility in St. Paul, Minnesota.

ALMA, ALTI, and AISE 2019. What Happened in Orlando...

The annual ALMA International Symposium & Expo (AISE) 2019, took place June 9–10 at the DoubleTree by Hilton at Universal Orlando, just prior to InfoComm 2019. Once again, it was the strongest event ever for anyone in the loudspeaker and electroacoustic development in general. This was the first event since the association decided to move away from Las Vegas and CES, and leverage the opportunities of working closer with the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association (AVIXA) and its annual trade show, InfoComm.
