MISCO announced that loudspeaker industry veteran Anthony Lucas has joined as senior transducer and applications engineer. In his new role, he will develop and design new products for MISCO’s guitar speaker brand, ToneSpeak and for its OEM and pro-audio customers. Lucas, with more than 25 years of industry experience, has designed hundreds of different models of guitar and bass guitar speakers and cultivated relationships with vendors, amplifier companies and musicians worldwide.

Before joining the venerable American loudspeaker manufacturer, Anthony Lucas worked for another driver and system manufacturing US company, Eminence Speaker, during more than 18 years. Anthony Lucas was instrumental in the design and creation of ToneSpeak, the new line of guitar speakers launched by MISCO in 2021.

"We are extremely excited to bring Anthony on board," says MISCO CEO, Dan Digre. "He was instrumental in creating the ToneSpeak brand and is arguably the most knowledgeable guitar speaker designer in the world. There is a good chance that you’ve heard Anthony’s products through your favorite guitarist. Bringing him in to develop new models and completely new products, is an exciting next step in the growth of the ToneSpeak brand."

MISCO continues to be recognized as a leading force in loudspeaker manufacturing, design, and test and measurement in North America. In the last few years MISCO has been diversifying their business with the acquisition of Oaktron and the introduction of its latest high-end driver brand, Bold North Audio and guitar speaker brand ToneSpeak.

"I’m excited to get back to my roots in American speaker manufacturing and for the opportunity to work full-time for the Tonespeak brand I helped create," adds Lucas. "Misco is a great company with wonderful people and an amazing story. It is time more of the audio industry knows who we are, and I’m pleased to be a part of that."

MISCO has recently been recognized for its work designing and manufacturing speakers for the NASA Orion spacecraft as a part of the Artemis missions to the moon and Mars. "MISCO’s core business is loudspeaker technology," states Dan Digre. "We are expanding our capacity, infrastructure, and engineering staff to support new opportunities that value American engineering and manufacturing."

In 1949, Cliff Digre started the Minneapolis Speaker Company – now MISCO. A son of Norwegian immigrants who settled in Minnesota, his vision for the little company was bold—to challenge the traditional loudspeaker industry with more creative solutions and superior client service. Today MISCO is recognized as a leading OEM loudspeaker manufacturer. Well established as a supplier to manufacturers in varied markets such as Military, Medical, Aerospace, Outer-space, Mass Transit, Pro Audio, and others, MISCO is one of the few remaining US speaker companies to continue to manufacture loudspeaker transducers domestically.
