IDUN Audio Partners with Merry Electronics to Enable Spatial Audio in New Headphone Designs

IDUN audio, the Danish embedded spatial audio technology specialists announced a strategic partnership with Taiwan-based Merry Electronics. IDUN audio will showcase three new spatial audio integrations for personal audio during CES 2025, all running on Merry's brand new reference designs for true wireless stereo (TWS) earbuds, a new OWS open ear clip solution, and the recently announced new dual driver headphones.

InnoPhase IoT, a semiconductor company specializing in ultra-low power Wi-Fi, and GreenWaves Technologies, the company pioneering ultra-low power AI and DSP processors for hearables and connected devices, announced the development of a lossless audio reference design for Wi-Fi headphones. In collaboration with Danish pioneer IDUN Audio, InnoPhase and GreenWaves have created a platform that enables Spatial Audio for hearables and headphones with extended range and long battery life.

Danish spatial audio specialists IDUN audio announced Aura, an innovative way of applying head tracking to spatialized multichannel content. The latest addition to the company's suite of software processing technologies, Aura is specifically designed for listening to content mixed to Dolby Atmos, Sony 360 Reality Audio, and other media formats, through conventional Bluetooth headphones and earbuds, independently of the playback device.

IDUN audio announced that its spatial audio software for wireless headphones and earbuds is now available on the latest Bragi 5 audio platform. The partnership between the Danish developers of advanced embedded audio solutions and the German smart hearables pioneer will enable users of Bragi-enabled headphones and earbuds to experience the immersive world of spatial audio, responding to a growing consumer demand for more dynamic and realistic sound experiences.

GreenWaves Technologies will be at CES 2024 with an interesting showcase of AI for audio applications. The company's GAP9 advanced AI processor is in volume production, and GreenWaves will be able to show several solutions that are enabling market leading hearable products. Demonstrations include audio advanced source separation models, and active noise cancellation with neural network based acoustic scene detection, as well as immersive 3D sound.

Sonical, the Headphone 3.0 pioneer based in San Mateo, CA, and IDUN audio, the leading-edge startup from Copenhagen, Denmark, specializing in dynamic spatial audio for headphones, have formalized a strategic partnership. The two companies have been cooperating since 2022, and IDUN audio was part of the Sonical CES 2023 demos, with its dynamic spatial audio software running on Sonical's headphone operating system CosmOS - enabling unsurpassed spatialization with fast head tracking.
