Bose to Launch New Wireless Earbuds Powered by Qualcomm S5 Audio SoC

At IFA 2022 in Berlin, Qualcomm Technologies and Bose highlighted their continued collaboration during Cristiano Amon’s opening keynote. Bose is integrating Qualcomm wireless voice and music platforms across their portfolio of premium earbuds, headphones, speakers and soundbars. Qualcomm also confirmed that the new Bose QuietComfort Earbuds II, which are scheduled to be unveiled September 7, will be Powered by the new Qualcomm S5 Sound Platform.

Knowles announced the availability of a new AI-enabled True Wireless Stereo (TWS) Development Platform that will certainly be welcomed by developers and manufacturers globally, looking to accelerate the product development process, from entry-level to premium applications. The new TWS development kit shortens the design cycle for OEMs, enabling advanced, differentiated products with contributed technology from Alango Technologies and Chatable, among others.

During a special event promoted to announce a new generation of Amazon Alexa products, technologies and solutions, Amazon introduced an all-new line-up of Echo devices to expand its Alexa voice assistant ecosystem in the home and now also on-the-go. The all-new Echo Buds, using ANC technology licensed from Bose, join the Echo Auto as another option to take Alexa outside the home. The new Echo speakers also include the Echo Studio, engineered in collaboration with Dolby and supporting HRA and immersive audio reproduction.

Sennheiser has products for all those segments and with its latest IE 80S BT model it is trying to combine the high-quality experience that music enthusiasts demand, featuring hi-res audio with the addition of LHDC support, with the convenience that a wireless neckband design still affords. At any moment, users can also detach the neckband and use the IE 80S BT in wired mode.
