Bowers & Wilkins Announces Formation Suite of Wireless Home Audio Products

Three years past since the acquisition of Bowers & Wilkins by Silicon Valley investment firm EVA Automation, a year since the opening of its brand new Southwater Research & Engineering (SRE) center in the United Kingdom, and less than six months since the appointment of Gregory Lee as Chief Executive Officer, Bowers & Wilkins announced a completely new family of wireless audio products, directly aimed at a new generation of users for the prestigious brand. Outstanding features include AirPlay 2 compatibility, Wi-Fi and wired Ethernet connections.

With a vague corporate announcement, Bowers & Wilkins announced a restructuring across the company, confirming organization changes to drive innovation and growth and a refocus of strategic investments. Following the acquisition of the famous British audio brand in 2016 by EVA Automation, an investment firm owned by millionaire Gideon Yu, the recently appointed company Chief Executive Officer Gregory Lee, former CEO of Samsung North America, has confirmed it will change the company structure.

The official release was a simple letter from EVA Automation’s founder Gideon Yu, confirming the acquisition of Bowers & Wilkins. The operation, announced on EVA’s website, was introduced as “EVA Automation joining forces with Bowers & Wilkins” and effectively concludes a process which was long envisaged by the famous British brand, looking for the financial muscle it needed to pursue further product development and market expansion.
