StreamUnlimited Debuts Stream805 and Stream810 Development Modules at IFA Global Markets and CEDIA 2016

StreamUnlimited announced its new Stream805 module, developed in collaboration with Broadcom and Wistron, combining StreamSDK software and Google Cast to create faster turnaround time for audio manufacturers. StreamUnlimited also introduced the new Stream810 module, developed in collaboration with NXP Semiconductors as a high-end streaming device for flagship audio products, including low power portable units. This module is designed to meet THX performance standards.

Audio manufacturer RIVA, the lifestyle brand of Audio Design Experts, Inc. (ADX) is at the forefront of Bluetooth speaker development and electroacoustic design with its patented Trillium audio technology. As previewed earlier at CES 2016, RIVA has announced the launch of its WAND Series, entering the whole-home audio space with new designs, allowing more connectivity options, high-resolution audio and extended support for streaming audio services.

Whole-home audio integration is getting smarter. Lighting management systems specialist Lutron announced a new level of integration with Sonos distributed music systems. Lutron’s new Pico Remote for Audio allows direct control of Sonos’ Home Sound System, which can now be incorporated into any Lutron Residential Lighting Control System. But wireless control is just the start. According to Lutron, “the balance of light and music creates harmony and has the power to transform and transport us.”

Bluetooth speakers are one of the leading product categories in consumer electronics and consumers certainly are starting to rely on the convenience of this wireless audio protocol to stream audio from a smartphone, tablet or computer. Now, Lithe Audio, a young UK-based AV brand decided to expand the scope of Bluetooth technology also to installation ceiling speakers, allowing an easy expansion of multizone audio in any room, from the bathroom to the kitchen or bedroom.

Parasound has introduced the ZoneMaster 4 DAX, the first four-zone DAC with crossovers for the custom installation industry. The 4 DAX was designed in response to custom installers who create multi-zone systems based around the Sonos Connect, Heos Link, BlueSound Node or Google Chromecast Audio, and are looking to upgrade their clients’ digital sound quality, with unique connectivity for subwoofers, stereo or mono speakers, and system control options.

This year’s Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) Expo event is back in Dallas, TX, at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center from September 13–17. The actual exhibit portion of the show takes place from September 15–17.
