Taking pride of place on the RAVENNA stand (7-V210) in partnership with the Media Networking Alliance (MNA) is a RAVENNA demo rack that will be used to demonstrate AES67 interoperability. Following a series of interoperability demonstrations at previous trade shows, during NAMM 2017, Cymatic Audio announced the addition of Dante compatibility to the AudioLan option card for its uTrack24 multitrack recorder, player and interface. Cymatic also added an all-new Playlist feature ideal for “virtual sound check” purposes and/or enhancing live band performances with pre-recorded tracks, for its uTrack-X32 expansion card.

Audinate and NAMM Unveil Dante Training Events at the 2017 NAMM Show

The NAMM Show annual conference will be held in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center, January 19-22. In partnership with NAMM, Audinate will conduct multiple training sessions at the 2017 NAMM show about Dante audio networking solutions. There is a master class on the first day of the show and two Dante training courses the following days. More than 50 companies will show Dante-enabled products at NAMM 2017.

Audinate introduced a new compact Dante Analog Output Module, allowing manufacturers an easy option for quickly developing Dante endpoints. The new module is a simple Dante audio to analog audio adapter module, supporting one RJ45 Dante input, and one or two balanced analog outputs. It is designed for use in products assembled using an overmold process, where a single part is created using two or more different materials in combination. This allows rapid product development for simple audio networked systems, such as powered speakers.

Audio over IP Expert Nicolas Sturmel Joins Merging Technologies as Senior Technologist

Merging Technologies announced that Nicolas Sturmel has joined the company on November 1st 2016. He was previously Project Manager and Head of Research at Digigram investigating future platforms and innovative solutions for audio and video broadcasting; a position he held from 2012. Sturmel gained a Ph.D in signal processing and information technology from the University of Paris Sud Orsay. Prior to that, he was working in the music production world with a two-year spell as assistant sound engineer.
