The Audio Winners of the European Imaging and Sound Association 2015-2016 Awards

Just before the annual IFA consumer electronics show in Berlin, the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) Awards, featuring more than 20 audio categories have been announced. Winners for 2015-2016 include Hi-Fi, mobile, home-theater and in-car products.

According to the latest Worldwide Home Audio Market report from Futuresource Consulting, the home audio market (Wireless Speakers, Soundbars, Hi-Fi Systems, A/V Receivers and Speaker Docks) grew by 22% to ship 71 million units. Trade value also grew by 22%, generating just under $10 billion worth of revenue in 2014.

Bose introduced its next-generation SoundLink Mini Bluetooth speaker, updating its features with a speakerphone for taking calls out loud, longer battery life, multi-connect for a phone and a tablet, and voice prompts for easy pairing - while still delivering the audio quality that made it famous. The price remains $199.95.

Texas Instruments released a family of six new audio ADCs, combining professional performance with portable integration. The PCM1865 family includes devices with a dynamic range as high as 110 dB. TI’s new multichannel devices simplify audio front-end design while reducing standby power consumption.
