Brussels Jazz Orchestra Live Album to be Released in Auro-3D

Brussels Jazz Orchestra and Auro Technologies announced the upcoming release of the album ‘BJO’s Finest – Live!’, the first live jazz Pure Audio Blu-Ray with Auro-3D. The album is an entirely Belgian production - performed by the renowned Brussels Jazz Orchestra, recorded at Flagey, Brussels and mixed in 5.1 Surround and Auro 9.1 by Patrick Lemmens at Galaxy Studios, Mol.

As we all know, experiencing true immersive audio is not easy, especially if we are looking for music recordings originally intended for any of the formats. Auro-3D might be an exception because there are several Pure Audio Blu-ray music discs available. Anyway, it’s good to know that Spektral Quartet’s new album, recorded in Auro-3D, is set to be released with Sono Luminus.

The Blu-ray Disc Association (BDA) will commence licensing the Ultra HD Blu-ray format starting August 24, 2015. Product announcements are anticipated for 2015 Holiday Season. This is good news for all home-theater enthusiasts and anyone in the market for a new 4K TV set and a new immersive audio installation.

Auro Technologies announced a partnership with Eleven Dimensions Media, who will be distributing the Auro-3D Creative Tool Suite through their reseller networks. The suite consists on a series of production tools, including 3D panning and mixing plug-ins, with support for all Auro-3D formats and various Surround formats, as well as encoding with the Auro-Codec.

Dolby Laboratories announced that Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. movies featuring Dolby Atmos soundtracks will soon be available for home theater enthusiasts with Dolby Atmos enabled AV receivers and speakers. Dolby Atmos movies will be available this fall on Blu-ray Disc and through leading content service provider VUDU, the first streaming service to announce support for Dolby Atmos films.
