B&C Expands 4” Woofer Family with New 4NDS34 Driver

B&C Speakers added the 4NDS34 neodymium subwoofer to their 4" family of professional transducers. The 4NDS34 features a 34mm copper voice coil, 84 gram neodymium slug magnet, 200w continuous power rating, and high sensitivity (89 dB) from 80-2000Hz. The 4NDS34 subwoofer compliments the other B&C 4" family members, including the 4NDF34 neodymium woofer, and the 4CXN36 high performance coax which combines a 36mm diaphragm compression driver and wide bandwidth woofer.

Test Bench: B&C Speakers DE990TN Compression Driver

The compression driver I examined here came from B&C Speakers and is the “little brother” to the titanium diaphragm DE1090TN compression driver featured in the August 2016 issue of Voice Coil magazine. As with the DE1090TN, the DE990TN was coupled with B&C Speakers’ ME90 80° × 60° constant directivity horn. The DE990TN has a 36 mm (1.4”) throat diameter and is driven by a titanium diaphragm with a 86 mm (3.4”) diameter voice coil wound with aluminum wire. This edition of Voice Coil Test Bench characterizes the 6.5” 6MBX44 driver, from Italian pro sound OEM, B&C Speakers. The new MBX series of pro sound mid-bass woofers is especially well suited for small two-way loudspeaker applications. Features for the 6MBX44 include a proprietary four twin spoke cast-aluminum frame, enhanced voice coil cooling, curvilinear waterproof paper cone and inverted paper dust cap, and a neodymium ring magnet. This month’s Test Bench is part of B&C Speakers' MBX series of mid-bass woofers, the 8MBX51. The MBX series offer acoustic designers a new range of high efficiency, wide bandwidth alternatives that were not previously available from B&C Speakers, and are especially well suited for two-way loudspeaker applications. B&C Speakers Launches New Large Motor and High Output Coaxial Series CXN88

The new B&C Speakers 12CXN88 and 15CXN88 high output coaxial transducers are now shipping. These larger motor alternatives feature a long throw, 88mm (3.5”) voice coil woofer, combined with a 75mm (3”) diaphragm high frequency driver. Both new coaxial drivers offer an excellent balance between HF and LF output, allowing cabinet designers to increase performance without compromise.
