Focusrite Announces Red 8Pre Interface at 141st AES Convention

The Red series of interfaces represents the pinnacle of Focusrite’s interface range, and Focusrite now announced the launch of its new Red 8Pre. Offering the most extensive features, and eight of its cleanest mic preamps, the Red 8Pre combines a 24-bit ‘parallel path summing’ dual converter configuration operating at up to 192kHz, with dual Thunderbolt 2 ports, dual DigiLink connectivity with Pro Tools and dual Ethernet ports for Dante audio-over-IP networking.

Following the worldwide success of the original RedNet range of audio networking solutions for studios and events, in 2015 Focusrite announced four second-generation models, all based around the industry-standard Dante audio-over-IP networking system. Now, Focusrite has expanded the series with two new AD/DA converters and is announcing availability for the RedNet PCIeR Card, the RedNet AM2 Stereo Dante headphone amplifier, and the flagship Red 4Pre Thunderbolt 2 and Pro Tools HD compatible audio interface.

British company Focusrite announced the launch of its new Red 4Pre flagship audio preamp and recording interface. Combining dual Thunderbolt 2, dual Pro Tools | HD DigiLink and Dante network audio connectivity options, the Red 4Pre features 58-in/64-out channels, and specially-developed digitally-controlled mic preamps, and high-headroom instrument inputs.
