Beta Version of New Dirac Live Now Available

Dirac Research announced the immediate availability of the beta version of its new Dirac Live room correction solution for owners of Arcam, Lexicon, Audio Control and NAD units, with broader availability to follow shortly. Those interested can visit www.dirac.com/diraclivebeta to be added to a list to receive the Dirac Live beta installation package via email. The new software will be demonstrated at CEDIA 2018 in September at Dirac Research Booth 2530.

The news was out in the British press and there's been a message sent by Arcam to its own distribution network, shared on social media. Apparently, Harman has decided to acquire the famous British audio brand Arcam for reasons unknown. No details are available about the transaction. On Arcam's twitter account the company confirmed the news, by stating "the current team carries on and joining Harman opens the door to major R&D and manufacturing resources for our future."

Visitors to CEDIA Expo 2015 will have the chance to be the first to see and hear the US debut of the Arcam AVR550 and AVR850 Dolby Atmos AVR’s as well as the new SR250 2-channel A/V receiver. Promoted by US distributors, The Sound Organisation, the new HDMI 2.0a and HDCP2.2 home systems from the British brand will also be presented at a special Open House event.

Anticipating CEDIA 2015’ presentations, Oct. 14-17, in Dallas, DTS announced several new additions to the DTS Play-Fi whole-home wireless audio ecosystem, including new hardware partners and compatible audio component products, new and expanded music services, and an enhanced user interface. This expansion increases the Play-Fi ecosystem’s selection of audio products to 30 different offerings.

This year’s Munich High End show saw MQA supporter numbers soar above the one hundred mark. The music encoding and streaming format was demonstrated publicly for the first time at a show and it was confirmed that MQA is to be established as a separate business entity from Meridian Audio in order to license the technology.
