The Yamaha RIVAGE PM10 digital mixing system also benefits from the new HY256-TL-SMF TWINLANe card that supports single-mode optical fibre and the V1.5 firmware update, which includes an Eventide H3000 Live Ultra-Harmonizer plug-in and up to 64 channels of Dan Dugan Sound Design automated mixing.
Dugan automixing is also the focus of the V3.5 firmware update for the TF series digital mixers, which brings up to eight channels of convenient Dugan control to a digital mixer in this price bracket for the first time, alongside other incremental improvements. On show for the first time at ProLight+Sound was be the new Yamaha VXS1ML mini satellite loudspeaker for the installation market, introduced at ISE 2017, alongside the VXS3S compact subwoofer. The tiny VXS1ML features exceptional coverage and frequency response for its size, yet is so small that it unobtrusively blends into any environment.
Another significant firmware upgrade to feature Dan Dugan automixing, this time for the installation industry, is Version 3.0 for the MTX3/MTX5-D and MRX7-D processors, with AES67 compatibility being implemented this summer.
Yamaha RIVAGE PM10 Updates
A new control surface, TWINLANe card and a firmware update that further boosts the versatility and performance of Yamaha’s highly acclaimed RIVAGE PM10 digital mixing system were the company’s highlights for ProLight+Sound 2017.
The new CS-R10-S control surface is approximately two-thirds the size of the existing CS-R10, offering the same outstanding operability and functionality for use in environments with limited space. A Dual Console function will allow two CS-R10 and/or CS-R10-S control surfaces to be connected to a single DSP-R10 DSP engine, so that separate CS-R10-S control surfaces can be used at the FOH and monitor positions, or a CS-R10-S can be used as a sidecar for a CS-R10, for example.
The HY256-TL-SMF is a TWINLANe card that supports single-mode optical fibre. Yamaha’s TWINLANe audio network, which has up to 400-channel capacity, has previously only supported multi-mode fibre connections. The HY256-TL-SMF expands system connection flexibility by also supporting single-mode fibre connections.
In addition to providing support for the new system components, the new V1.5 firmware update for RIVAGE PM10 includes an Eventide H3000 Live Ultra-Harmonizer plug-in and a Dan Dugan Sound Design automated mixing. The original Eventide H3000 Ultra-Harmonizer offers outstanding effect quality that has made it an enduring favourite of engineers and musicians. The newly-developed H3000 Live plug-in offers that same performance optimized for live-sound applications.

The Dan Dugan Sound Design automated mixer plug-in provides automatic gain adjustment of up to 64 speech microphones in real time, with finesse and natural balance that would normally require multiple operators. It also suppresses feedback and comb filter effects, freeing the engineer from the need to keep track of numerous faders in challenging unscripted speech situations.
“Users of this top-tier series of consoles will be pleased to have plenty of Dugan Speech System channels. We’re providing five groups so that the processing can be divided into as many as five independent automixers,” says Dan Dugan, CEO of Dan Dugan Sound Design.

The CS-R10-S, HY256-TL-SMF and V1.5 firmware are all scheduled for release during Q3 of 2017.
