WiiM Expands Lineup with WiiM Amp Ultra Smart Amplifier

May 15 2025, 00:35
WiiM introduced its most powerful and refined streaming amplifier to date: the WiiM Amp Ultra. Housed in an aluminum chassis and featuring a vibrant 3.5” glass-covered touchscreen, the WiiM Amp Ultra delivers 100W per channel at 8 ohms, with ultra-low distortion. The WiiM Amp Ultra builds on the streaming power of the existing Amp Pro model, and combines it with the premium display experience introduced in the WiiM Ultra streamer, adding more output options for home theater applications.

Like all WiiM products, the Amp Ultra connects seamlessly through the WiiM Home App, enabling whole-home audio control, automatic room correction, multiroom grouping, and access to dozens of streaming platforms. Users can control their entire setup from the app, voice assistants, or with the included WiiM Voice Remote 2, ensuring complete consistency with the company’s existing ecosystem. Regular firmware updates ensure the Amp Ultra stays future-ready with new features and improvements over time.

“The WiiM Amp Ultra reflects the voice of our community,” says Lifeng Zhao, CEO of WiiM. “Our users wanted more power, refinement, and connectivity, without losing the high-fidelity audio, and we listened. This amplifier was designed for discerning listeners who want to elevate their setups with precision, clarity, and smarter connectivity.”

The new WiiM Amp Ultra is able to power up to four passive speakers thanks to its Post-Filter Feedback Technology that ensures stable, load-independent performance, making it ideal for creating immersive sound in one large room or across multiple zones in the home. Whether connecting to a TV for theater-quality audio, streaming playlists during a dinner party, or upgrading classic stereo gear, the Amp Ultra is a versatile design that fits a variety of applications.
It delivers 100W per channel at 8Ω or 200W at 4Ω, easily driving up to four passive speakers with stunning clarity and dynamics. Dolby Digital decoding, HDMI ARC, and a dedicated subwoofer output help support home theater setups in the living room, while the 32-bit/384kHz capable ESS ES9039Q2M Sabre DAC, dual TI TPA3255 Class-D amp chips, and six TI OPA1612 op-amps, ensure ultra-low distortion and rich, detailed sound for music listening.

After testing the possibilities in the WiiM Ultra streamer, the company decided to expand the 3.5” glass-covered touchscreen also on an integrated amplifier. The already proven interface offers intuitive playback controls, input switching, EQ settings, queue view, custom wallpapers, VU meters, Smart Preset, Recently Played, Internet Radio, and more. This also enables advanced customization, with easy selection among 24 preset EQ profiles, access to a 10-band graphic and parametric equalizer with input-specific settings, plus built-in room correction that analyzes the acoustics of the space and adjusts audio output for tonal balance across speakers and subwoofers.

Next-generation connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.3 with LE Audio and dual antennas for fast and reliable wireless streaming. As with other WiiM streamers, the new WiiM Amp Ultra supports Google Cast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect, with seamless access to Spotify, Amazon Music, TIDAL, Qobuz, and more music services via the WiiM Home App. Voice control works with Alexa, Google Assistant, and the WiiM Voice Remote, which features a built-in microphone and voice front-end. The new amplifier also pairs perfectly with the new WiiM Sound smart speaker and other WiiM streamers, working effortlessly within the broader WiiM Ecosystem.

The WiiM Amp Ultra, which includes the Voice Remote 2, will be available in Q3 2025. Price to be confirmed.
