WiiM Announces Certified Integration with URC Control and Automation Systems

July 1 2024, 03:10
WiiM announced a certified integration with URC's smart residential and commercial automation solutions. URC's custom integration network will supply and support WiiM's affordable connected AI products for smart home and commercial applications. The integration enables control and automation using URC's Total Control interfaces and WiiM products like the WiiM Amp, WiiM Pro, WiiM Pro Plus, and WiiM Mini, delivering intuitive, personalized experiences.

Headquartered in Harrison NY USA, Universal Remote Control, Inc (URC) is a smart home automation and control solutions provider, originally a supplier of remote controls, with over 100 million units sold in the past 10 years alone. URC control systems include Total Control and Complete Control solutions, with its own user interfaces designed for tabletop controllers, in-wall touch screens, handheld remotes, keypads, and mobile apps – plus voice control integration. URC systems are custom designed, installed and maintained exclusively by a network of URC trained systems integration professionals.

"This collaboration combines the strategy and aspirations of two global brands committed to affordable choice. The WiiM brand is built on high-quality, feature-rich and affordable audio. It succeeds in the simple aspiration of providing solutions so everyone in the world can enjoy high-fidelity music. Similarly, the URC brand is committed to superior quality and choice through easy integration, accessibility and attractive prices," the URC announcement states.

Combining the products from both brands will allow users to enjoy unified control and automation of all WiiM products directly from products such as URC's TKP-8600 Touch Screen, running a Total Control solution interface. Key benefits of this integration will include streaming audio from WiiM devices with URC’s HDA distributed audio system quality, a unified interface through the Total Control system, minimizing the number of other controllers, remotes, and devices, and support for voice commands.

Both brands offer superior quality, agnostic integrations and attractive pricing so installers and end-users can enjoy better audio. URC’s Total Control is a secure integrated environment that allows dealers remote access (with end user approval) to troubleshoot, monitor, or adjust the whole system and configure the WiiM integration.

"This integration is a natural fit of two brands with similar goals of choice and affordability. Combining WiiM streaming devices and Total Control, URC’s certified dealers can efficiently install premium, highly customized systems with world class, premium audio," states Lars Granoe, URC’s VP Product Development.

"We are thrilled to partner with URC to bring our high-fidelity audio solutions to their advanced control and automation systems," says Dr. Lifeng Zhao, CEO of WiiM. "This collaboration enhances the smart home experience, offering our users seamless integration and unparalleled convenience, which our team stands for."

WiiM recently announced the WiiM Ultra and WiiM Amp Pro streamers, which can effortlessly cast music from any music app using Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast, Alexa Cast, DLNA, Spotify Connect, and TIDAL Connect. The new devices, which are scheduled to be available later in 2024, allow users to seamlessly manage their content and devices via the WiiM Home App.
