BluOS Joins Recently Launched Q-SYS Technology Partner Program

December 13 2022, 00:45
Q-SYS, the audio, video and control networked platform technology division of QSC, recently launched its Technology Partner Program with integration partners representing a growing list of Q-SYS plugins. As part of the Program, plugins will receive endorsement badges indicating they have been verified or certified and offer seamless integration with the Q-SYS Platform. A Q-SYS plugin for BluOS is now available, expanding the control possibilities for Bluesound Professional products.

BluOS is a leading multiroom audio platform particularly for installed residential systems, expanding into commercial and corporate environments with Bluesound Professional, and a natural candidate to join the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program. This program enables software and hardware technology partners to create market-ready solutions that integrate seamlessly with the Q-SYS platform, which can managed from the cloud.

Since the official launch of the Q-SYS Technology Partner Program on December 6, 2022, the ecosystem of technology partners and endorsed integrations has been expanded with both hardware and software solutions. Among the companies who have joined the program we can find Alcorn McBride, Atlona, Audioscience, Audio-Technica, Blustream, Clockaudio, LG Electronics, L-Acoustics, and Bluesound Professional, among many others predominantly oriented toward commercial integration.

Companies recognized as partners now have access to the Q-SYS Technology Partner Hub, a centralized portal with relevant, up-to-date resources for training, solution development and marketing. These resources make it easier to collaborate with Q-SYS, get support and accelerate go-to-market reach. In early 2023, Q-SYS already confirmed that it will expand its Ecosystem to include Developer Partners with proven expertise to develop plugins on behalf of Technology Partners.

"Q-SYS Technology Partners are essential for the growth of the Q-SYS Platform and we are thrilled to collaborate with a diverse set of partners to help accelerate the development of their Q-SYS plugins," says Geno Zaharie, Principal, Alliances & Ecosystems, Q-SYS. "With this new program, mutual customers can easily identify and collaborate with partners that represent a wide range of the most popular AV solutions on the market, allowing them to deliver unmatched experiences using next-level automation and control."

Confirmation of Bluesound Professional and the BluOS ecosystem followed the vetting and verification process for the Q-SYS plugin, and the plugin with BluOS applications is now available in the Q-SYS Designer Software, which is what integrators will use to create designs for the platform. The system design environment was created specifically to allow integrators to focus their energy on building the audio system, using a single application for projects of any size.

Q-SYS Designer Software even allows an emulation mode for integrators to build a system without having the hardware connected, with control of external devices through available LUA scripting. The software also allows integrators to design custom interfaces and build user controls for touchscreen controllers. For iOS devices, Q-SYS Designer Software allows integrators to design simple user control apps to wirelessly control any element of a Q-SYS system from an iPhone or iPad.

"Q-SYS is an industry-leading AV platform with robust control capabilities and has been the most requested control integration platform that we don’t already support from customers all over the world. We are therefore delighted to partner with Q-SYS and are even happier to be a launch member of the Technology Partner Program," says Graeme Harrison, VP and General Manager of Bluesound Professional.

Made up of an operating system and a control application, BluOS manages stored and cloud music sources and playback, with support for high resolution audio streams up to 24-bit/192kHz, allowing for interoperability among enabled devices across brands. Integrations with popular streaming music services like Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz, and Deezer, commercial streaming services like SoundMachine, Tunify, Qsic, CustomChannels and SiriusXM Music for Business as well as featuring support for FLAC, WAV, MQA, and other high-resolution formats and codecs.
