Status Audio Unveils Advanced Wireless Earbuds Featuring Knowles Triple Driver System

July 15 2025, 01:00
Lifestyle brand Status Audio, founded by NY-based James Bertuzzi, unveiled the Pro X true wireless earbuds, scheduled for retail launch in early September 2025. These advanced earbuds are an interesting product with a unique design and an interesting triple-driver hybrid configuration, featuring two Knowles balanced armature drivers and one dynamic driver in each earbud. The Status Pro X TWS earbuds are also specified to support Bluetooth LE Audio, while supporting hi-res audio wireless streaming via Bluetooth classic using the LDAC codec.

Building on the experience that the company gained with its previous two products — Between Pro and Between 3ANC — the new Pro X earbuds from Status Audio expand on the same bold design, with a more ambitious acoustic architecture focused on quality reproduction. As the brand’s founder James Bertuzzi states, “Wireless audio is rife with pedestrian design, derivatives, and copycats. For us, it's simple: Superior engineering on the inside deserves beauty and intrigue on the outside. Our products are designed differently because they are different. There's no mistaking us for anyone else.”

With a significantly more compact chassis, the Pro X offers a sleeker, more ergonomic fit while incorporating advanced performance features that set it apart from other wireless earbuds in its class. At the heart of the Pro X is the hybrid triple driver system with premium Balanced Armature components from Knowles combined with a 12mm dynamic driver. Apart from enhancing reproduction of high-resolution audio sources, this configuration also provides optimal support for the earbuds’ hybrid active noise cancellation implementation and adjustable transparency (ambient-aware) mode.

The Status Pro X also delivers enhanced voice call clarity powered by Voiceloom AI, Status’ noise-reduction and beamforming speech enhancement technology for clear phone calls. Three microphones per earbud support both the hybrid ANC, as well as the voice and speech enhancement applications. The earbuds support Bluetooth Multipoint connectivity delivering Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair support. The IP55 (water and dust resistant) design is specified for 8 hours of continuous playback with ANC off, plus 24 additional hours with the charging case.
Additional features include a redesigned app experience, upgraded connectivity with Bluetooth 5.3 already ready for Bluetooth LE Audio and Auracast, offering SBC, AAC, LDAC, and LC3 codec support. Thanks to the combination of driver architecture and LDAC support, the Status Pro X earbuds are High Res Wireless Audio certified by the Japan Audio Society.

“The Pro X represents everything we’ve learned and everything our community has asked for, packed into our most refined form yet,” says James Bertuzzi, CEO of Status Audio. “It’s an uncompromising product that delivers on both sound and usability.”

The Status Pro X earbuds are available for pre-order at $249, with units shipping in early September 2025.
