KV2 Audio Introduces Large Format ESM312 Stage Monitor

January 25 2022, 00:35
KV2 Audio, the professional audio company founded by George Krampera, announced the ESM312, a very high output, 3-way, passive monitoring solution using two bass reflex loaded 12" neo woofers, a single horn loaded 6“ midrange woofer and a 1” compression driver. Housed in a professional robust Baltic Birch cabinet, with a protective polymer paint coating and heavy-duty grille, the ESM312 was designed for large scale stage monitoring applications, where quick and easy set up is required.

As with other products from KV2 Audio, the company's vision remains unchanged in this new design, intended to eliminate distortion and provide sound reproduction that has true dynamic range and offers a real representation of the original source. And nowhere is that more critical than with stage monitors.

The new ESM312 is the most powerful addition to KV2 Audio’s range of high-quality stage monitors, currently with two other much lower profile models. This one is aimed at large scale stage monitoring applications, and that is why KV2 designed the ESM312 as a very high output 3-way monitoring solution with carefully selected drivers.

The result, allows the ESM312 to deliver 133dB of sustained output, and 136dB peak with very high dynamic range. A state-of-the-art 1” compression driver with a complex geometry phase plug and a neodymium magnetic structure ensures very loud output for its size, exceptionally low distortion and extended frequency response. The ESM312 also features dual 12” woofers with sophisticated voice coil technology and a neodymium magnetic motor structure for increased force, lower distortion and increased frequency response linearity.

"It's ability to reproduce vocals is quite simply unmatched by anything else available on the market," says the company about this combination.

Otherwise, the tall, wedge-shaped design incorporates rear-mounted flip-out stands to allow for 35 or 45-degree angles as required. A specially designed acoustic fabric covering inside the grille protects against liquid spillage, whilst a wear-resistant polymer coating is designed to withstand the rigors of touring and repeated stage use. An ergonomically designed recessed handle on each side panel facilitates handling and transport.

The KV2 ESM312 is truly an impressive monitoring solution and certainly not the typical low-profile wedge cabinet. In fact, it's the tallest stage monitor we have seen in decades - which means it will not be pleasing for front audiences in smaller auditoriums with tall stages. But it will be the stage monitor that demanding musicians who don't use IEMs will want to have on stage.
