KEF Delivers High-End Audio System for the New Lotus Eletre Hyper-SUV

Working closely with Lotus, KEF has drawn on its expertise on acoustic engineering to create a truly spatial and scalable audio experience for the Lotus Eletre. The standard audio system on the new Lotus Eletre electric Hyper-SUV, called KEF Premium, features an 1380-watt 15-speaker system with Uni-Q drivers and surround sound technology. Customers can also upgrade to KEF Reference, a 2160-watt 23-speaker system with Uni-Q and 3D surround sound tech.

The ongoing partnership between the two British iconic brands has reached another significant milestone with KEF bringing high-end audio into the all-new and all-electric Lotus Eletre Hyper-SUV. The Lotus Eletre is a striking and progressive Hyper-SUV, the first of a new breed of pure electric SUVs. It takes the core principles and Lotus DNA from more than 70 years of sports car design and engineering, evolving them into a desirable all-new lifestyle car for the next generation of Lotus customers.

The Eletre is 4WD, has a battery capacity that’s over 100kWh and with power from 600hp. A bold new dimension to the Lotus performance car portfolio, the Eletre delivers a significant number of firsts for Lotus – the first five-door production car, the first model outside sports car segments, the first lifestyle EV, and the most ‘connected’ Lotus ever.

The unique KEF Uni-Q technology combines both tweeter and mid-range drivers into an acoustically coaxial, single point source, delivering a more coherent, hyper-realistic sound experience. Users can upgrade to KEF Reference option, which also features the Uni-Core technology, the pioneering new approach to speaker and subwoofer design that redefines size versus performance, implemented by KEF in its latest KC62 ultra-compact subwoofer.

Both KEF Premium and KEF Reference audio system options feature partially exposed speakers in the doors, a technical execution and a beautiful design feature. KEF’s Uni-Q driver arrays sit at the heart of almost all of the brand's speakers. And this exposed use in the car doors is perfectly adjusted to the rigid Tangerine Waveguide material, with optimized metal alloy, stiffened dome and elliptical dome stiffener.

Lotus Cars is based in Hethel, Norfolk, UK, and is the global HQ for sports car and hypercar manufacturing operations, the Lotus Advanced Performance Centre and the iconic 2.2-mile test track. Lotus Cars builds world-class high-performance cars, born out of legendary success on the racetrack including 13 FIA Formula 1 world titles and many other championship honors. In July 2021, Lotus unveiled the all-new Lotus Emira, its last petrol-powered sports car and best-of-breed, and in July 2019 it launched the Evija, the world’s first all-electric British hypercar. Deliveries of both EV cars will begin during 2022.
