AudioControl Expands Manufacturing Operations Less Than a Year After Acquisition

Seattle, WA-based AudioControl reports that its operations are now delivering best products and customer support in the brand’s nearly five-decade history across all critical phases of the company thanks to a significant investment by AVPro Global since the August, 2023 acquisition. New R&D, engineering, manufacturing, and customer service teams are now able to yield just-in-time delivery of multizone entertainment and home theater products to integrators.

Improving processes and bringing all aspects of manufacturing to the highest level, Director of Engineering Juha Nurminen has significantly enhanced AudioControl’s ability to deliver high-performance products to integrators with little or no wait time. “The expanded engineering, customer service, and technical support teams add an exceptional level of operational efficiency and product knowledge, creating the best end-to-end experience for AudioControl’s customers worldwide,” he reports.

“AudioControl is a brand that is held in very high esteem for premium performance audio products,” explains Juha Nurminen. “Our plan is to optimize critical processes to make the brand stronger than ever. There is tremendous passion within both AudioControl and AVPro Global amongst likeminded individuals to deliver the best audio products and related support services. It is quite apparent that this brand and these solutions are quite important to our residential and commercial AV integrators,” Nurminen added.

With factories operating in Seattle, WA., Sioux Falls, SD., and overseas, the R&D, engineering, and manufacturing teams can conceive of and build prototypes very quickly, getting the highest quality solutions into the hands of integrators at lightspeed. The company’s recent investment in higher parts quantities plus state-of-the-art inventory management systems and modernized manufacturing has resulted in increased production, particularly of AudioControl’s most popular multizone and home theater amplifiers, ensuring just-in-time availability.

“We have gone from having a 6–8-week backorder on most products to same-day shipping on almost every model,” explains Chris Kane, AudioControl’s Vice President of North American Residential Sales. “Often, integrators do not have the flexibility to wait an extended period for their order—they need the products quickly to get jobs completed. Everything we are doing focuses on the best interests of our customers.”

With an elite team of engineers now in place, AudioControl can focus on building and delivering leading edge solutions to dealers, such as GaN-based high-power amplifier platforms, 70-volt amplifiers, Dante-enabled multizone amplifiers with advanced DSP capabilities, and state-of-the-art home theater preamp/processor and receivers.

“We have a visionary group of people working together to cull critical data from the field and apply this information toward the development of new solutions,” explains AVPro Global CTO Matt Murray. “This process has served AVPro Edge very well historically, and we are having success thus far adapting these procedures on behalf of AudioControl.”
