xMEMS Introduces Amplifier-Less MEMS Tweeter for 2-Way Wireless Earbuds

xMEMS unveiled Lassen, the company’s latest member of its growing µFidelity range of MEMS drivers, and the first “amplifier-less” MEMS tweeter optimized for 2-way True Wireless Stereo (TWS) earbuds. According to xMEMS, Lassen brings a number of advantages with no need for a piezo amplifier, reducing cost, size, and power consumption while maintaining exceptional sound performance with up to 115dB SPL in the 6kHz–20kHz range. For manufacturers, Lassen lowers integration costs by 25% making room for other advanced features, and allowing consistent sound quality in mass production.

Celestion TSQ2145 and TSQ1845 Low-Frequency Pro Audio Drivers Now Available

Engineered for applications in subwoofers or as bass drivers in two- or three-way loudspeaker designs and large-format arrays for sound reinforcement, Celestion's Ten Squared (TSQ) Series launched in 2024 is now expanded with two large-sized woofers. Celestion announced the availability of both the 21" TSQ2145 and 18" TSQ1845 models of aluminum-chassis neodymium magnet low-frequency loudspeakers.

Furthering the integration of solid-state microspeakers in over-the-ear headphones, global ODM/OEM AMPACS announced a turnkey 2-way headphone solution designed in collaboration with MEMS pioneer xMEMS Labs. The patented 2-way module architecture improves spatial audio accuracy and reduces weight, among other benefits versus conventional single-driver architectures. This time, the Skanderborg, Denmark-based company expanded its outstanding but underrated Core studio monitor range with a new compact nearfield model, the Core 5, and a compact floor subwoofer, aptly named Core Sub Compact. This is the first refresh in the Dynaudio reference monitor range since November 2019, when the Core 47 monitor and Core Sub were launched. xMEMS and Bujeon Launch 2-Way Hybrid MEMS Driver Solution for Hi-Res TWS Earbuds

xMEMS Labs and Bujeon Electronics have partnered to create a family of 2-way speaker modules to accelerate design of next generation high-resolution and lossless audio-capable TWS earbuds. The solution integrates a high-performance 9mm dynamic driver custom-designed by Bujeon with an xMEMS' Cowell tweeter, the world’s smallest monolithic MEMS microspeaker at just 22mm. The reference design combines an xMEMS Aptos MEMS speaker amplifier to create a "drop-in" solution compatible with today’s leading TWS system-on-chips.
