General Motors Introduces Dolby Atmos Across its Entire 2026 EV Lineup

Dolby Laboratories and General Motors announced that Dolby Atmos will be supported as an available feature across Cadillac's entire 2026 electric vehicle lineup. This will include the 2026 Escalade IQL, Escalade IQ, Lyriq-V, Optiq, Vistiq, and more. As previewed at CES 2025, select 2025 models will also receive Dolby Atmos through over-the-air software updates. Dolby reports over 2 million Dolby Atmos-enabled cars already on the roads.

The Volkswagen Group partnered with Swiss gaming platform AirConsole to bring its unique in-car gaming experience to its drivers and passengers, starting with the new Volkswagen ID.7 Tourer. In parallel to the ID.7, ID.5, ID.4 and ID.3 product lines (from ID. software 4.0), AirConsole will also be available for the new Passat, the new Tiguan, the new Golf and the new Golf Estate.

TDK Corporation extended its Flexield family of permalloy thin film sheets with the new IPM01 series, which features high-permeability and high loss in a lightweight and 0.006 mm ultra-thin design. This new material made possible due to TDK's proprietary manufacturing method, effectively shields lower-frequency band noise, which is becoming a growing issue in electric vehicles (EVs). Mass production of the product began May 2024.
