Sound designers are often resorting to applying Active Sound Design (ASD) for Electric Vehicle Sound Enhancement (EVSE) to mask and shape the sonic experience in electric vehicles. However, this can affect the ease of communication between passengers in the vehicle as well as telecommunication to external participants, and therefore ASD should be used judiciously to avoid unwanted side effects.
This webinar will present methods to evaluate how listening effort and privacy can be affected by active sound design. Reference assessment methods and results of practical measurements taken in a high-performance electric vehicle will be explained, together with suggestions for enhancing the communication experience.
Learn how to evaluate Listening Effort, according to ETSI TS 103 558 standardized analysis methods that use real speech for analysis, and how to analyze the potential impact on communication between passengers, resulting from active enhancement systems used in electric vehicle interiors.
