Harman Professional Solutions Expands Dante-Enabled Crown DriveCore Install DA Amplifier Series

At InfoComm 2018, Harman Professional Solutions announced new members of the its successful Crown DriveCore Install DA Series of amplifiers. The newest members of Crown’s flagship line of networked install amplifiers feature support for Dante and AES67 networked audio at lower wattage than existing DA Series amplifiers. The new models also introduce new 300 and 600 watt options, offering the same robustness and capabilities of Crown’s DriveCore Install DA Series at lower wattage.

Alcons Introduce VR5 Mini Versatile Monitor with Patent-Pending Waveguide Technology

Dutch pro audio specialists Alcons Audio have announced the premiere of its VR5 mini versatile monitor system, designed as near-field sound reinforcement system for fixed and portable applications. The VR5 is the first pro-audio system to feature the patent-pending Alcons waveguide technology, to fully control the vertical dispersion of the pro-ribbon mid-high frequency transducer. The system was launched at InfoComm 2018, Las Vegas NV, as part of the Alcons Pro-Ribbon Immersive Experience displayed on the Alcons booth.

European audio software developer Sonarworks has established a new digital sound reference standard response curve, to be included with the latest update of the company's Reference 4.1 sound calibration software launching in early June 2018. The company says this is "a groundbreaking standardization methodology" that "will change the way the industry deals with frequency response related issues. The change is so significant, you going to see this technology implemented in more than just our own software."
