Sonic Studio announced the release of Amarra 4 Luxe v4.1 featuring integrated MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) audio technology. The latest version of the popular Mac-based software music player now supports MQA Core Decoding that unfolds an MQA file to deliver higher than CD-quality sound, and supports MQA TIDAL streaming, delivering the sound of the original master recording with files small enough to stream, while also being backward compatible, so they can be played on any device.

Amazon Introduces Alexa, Alexa Skills Kit and Alexa Voice Service to Canada

Amazon announced that Alexa, the voice recognition engine that powers the Amazon Echo range of smart speakers, is now available for Canada, along with three Alexa-enabled devices: Echo, Echo Plus, and Echo Dot. The expansion also means that the Alexa Skills Kit (ASK) and the Alexa Voice Service (AVS), enabling developers to build voice experiences for Alexa users will now be available for English speakers in Canada.

Pandora Expands Support for Pandora Premium and Alexa Voice Commands on Sonos

Pandora streaming music provider, and Sonos, launched new ways for listeners to control their music on Sonos within Pandora’s mobile app. Listeners in the U.S. can now control Sonos directly through the Pandora mobile app and command Pandora stations with voice commands via Alexa. The new experience also includes support for Premium, Pandora’s on-demand service launched earlier this year.
