Cypress Unveils Low Power MCU Architecture for Secure Devices

Cypress Semiconductor announced its newest microcontroller (MCU) PSoC 6 architecture that is purpose-built for the Internet of Things (IoT). The architecture is built on ultra-low-power 40-nm process technology, with integrated security features required for next-generation IoT devices. Featuring dual-core processing, the architecture fills a gap in the IoT solution space between power-hungry and higher-cost application processors and performance-challenged, single-core MCUs.

Microchip's latest PIC MCU family brings ease of design with more Core Independent Peripherals and is first to offer a 48-pin package with additional ADC channels and I/Os. The new PIC16F15386 family with CIPs uses MPLAB Code Configurator for quick development and offers Memory Access Partition with write-protection to prevent accidental over-write. A Device Information Area protects unique device identification and calibration values.

Nordic Semiconductor in collaboration with its design partners are unveiling latest Bluetooth low energy and IEEE 802.15.4-enabled innovations at International CES 2017 in Las Vegas. The Norwegian company will demonstrate the capabilities of its Bluetooth 5-compatible nRF52 Series SoCs. Product demonstrations include contactless payment, wearables wireless charging, thread networking, voice-activated remote control, educational platforms, home automation and Bluetooth 5 enhancements.
