Step-Down Converters from STMicroelectronics Save Energy and Space in Connected and Wearable Devices

STMicroelectronics has announced its ST1PS01 step-down converters. The devices are engineered for small size, low quiescent current and high efficiency at all values of load current, to save energy and real-estate in keep-alive connected devices such as asset trackers, wearables, smart sensors and smart meters. Leveraging synchronous rectification, efficiency is 92% at 400 mA full load and 95% when delivering just 1 mA.

Analogix Semiconductor, announced the availability of its ANX7451, second generation 10 Gbps USB-C re-timer capable of supporting USB 3.2 Gen2 data rates and DisplayPort 1.4a at 8.1 Gbps for next generation 10G mobile devices which require re-timers to drive appreciable distances. ANX7451 guarantees high bandwidth data and video transport over long channels in smartphone system boards and external cable connections.

During the RISC-V Summit, in Santa Clara, CA, Western Digital announced three new open-source innovations designed to support Western Digital’s internal RISC-V development efforts and those of the growing RISC-V ecosystem.
