AKM Announces New Low-Power 32-Bit Stereo DAC with 32% Smaller Footprint

Asahi Kasei Microdevices Corporation (AKM) has started mass production of the AK4333ECB, a 32-bit stereo audio D/A converter (DAC) with built-in headphone amplifier. While the mounting area has been significantly reduced by 32% compared to AKM's previous products, it features Velvet Sound technology for high sound quality. The new low power DAC was developed to enhance mobile and portable wireless designs, such as wireless headphones and VR/AR headsets.

Dealers, sound engineers, and press were able to go behind the scenes and get hands on with production of the famous Rycote windshields and shockmounts for field production sound. xMEMS Achieves Extended Bass Response, Making ANC Applications Possible From a Single MEMS Driver

The new Cypress MEMS speaker from xMEMS Labs achieves 40X louder bass response on a single monolithic, miniaturized device, achieving well above the 130dB SPL at low frequencies, required for ANC implementations on TWS earbuds. The new xMEMS Cypress achieves this groundbreaking performance by using ultrasound technology. The new development will be demonstrated at CES 2024 by appointment only, with mass production scheduled for late-2024.
