Conexant Brings Far-Field Microphone Processing Software to Qualcomm Hexagon DSP

Conexant announced that their AudioSmart software has been integrated into Qualcomm’s Hexagon digital signal processor family, found in over a billion smart devices worldwide. With Conexant’s audio software inside, consumers will benefit from clearer voice communication and accurate speech recognition from their smart devices, even in noisy conditions, up to five meters away from the target device.

Orfeo SoundWorks’s Bluetooth Earphones have been selected as a CES 2016 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Headphones category. The company introduced its InnerMic technology which, combined with VoiceRecovery processing technology allows for total intelligibility in any noisy environment. Basically, the concept consists in placing a microphone inside of the earphones to capture inner voice and block out all sound interference.

SoundHound, a pioneering company in sound recognition and search technologies, updated its music app, SoundHound, to include integration with Apple Music and Beats1 Radio. SoundHound has more than 265 million global users and the new features will go live in over 100 countries where Apple Music launched.

Knowles completed the acquisition of Audience, following an updated offer for a mix of cash and shares of Knowles common stock. The acquisition and merger of the two companies was already approved by Korean regulators and should enable the world leader in MEMS devices and transducers for mobile devices to access Audience’s advanced voice and audio processing technologies.

Conexant’s new I2S audio Codec and AudioSmart software offers noise cancellation and full-duplex acoustic echo cancellation for tablets, allowing better voice quality even in noisy environments. Conexant also introduced a Linux software solution for voice control and communication in smart home products and unveiled its new Smart Voice Pickup (SVP) technology for headsets, based on its proprietary SSP noise suppression algorithm.
