ArkX Laboratories Joins Voice Interoperability Initiative

ArkX Laboratories has joined Amazon, Dolby, Facebook, and more than 30 leading technology and manufacturing companies as a member of the Voice Interoperability Initiative (VII) Group. Originally announced in 2019, the initiative's mission ensures voice-enabled products provide users with choice and flexibility through multiple, interoperable voice services. ArkX is a recognized supplier of production-ready, far-field voice capture solutions, all Amazon Voice Service (AVS) pre-qualified.

Cardinal Peak, a leading provider of product engineering services, and Syntiant, the fast-growing developer of deep learning AI chips for edge devices, announced a design collaboration focused on providing brands with a turnkey solution to build innovative end-to-end audio and voice-enabled products. The product engineering services firm from Boulder, CO, will expand Syntiant's efforts to offer customized AI hardware and software solutions to the consumer electronics industry.

Sensory announced new capabilities for TrulyHandsfree, the company’s widely-deployed wake word engine for voice assistants, adding support for multiple wake words from any combination of leading platforms, custom branded wake words, small vocabulary command sets or even user defined wake words where the end user can create their own phrase. This technology supports Amazon's Voice Interoperability Initiative (VII) announced in September 2019.

Amazon, Baidu, Sony, BMW, Microsoft, Bose, Tencent, Orange, Salesforce, Harman, Logitech, Verizon, Sonos, Spotify, Sound United, and more are joining forces to promote choice by supporting multiple, interoperable voice services on a single device. The idea is to offer multiple, simultaneous wake words, so users can access multiple voice services by simply saying the corresponding wake word – from Alexa and Cortana to Orange’s Djingo, Salesforce’s Einstein, and more.
