Universal Audio New Apollo Twin X USB Audio Interface Expands Realtime UAD Processing on Windows Computers

Universal Audio released its new Apollo Twin X USB desktop audio interface. Normally the company works with hardware and software designed to work with Macs and macOS. This one looks similar to existing Apollo units, and features the same A/D and D/A conversion inherited directly from the Apollo X rackmount with 24-bit/192kHz audio I/O. In this case, adding USB 3 connectivity (USB-C connector) for Windows, instead of Thunderbolt.

Universal Audio announced the new UAD-2 Live Rack for live sound applications is now available. The UAD-2 Live Rack is a 16-channel MADI QUAD DSP effects processor, allowing users to apply Realtime UAD Processing with MADI-enabled digital consoles. The new UAD-2 Live Rack provides a hardware and software system for integrating the entire library of UAD Powered Plug-Ins into a live sound environment — all at near-zero latency.

Universal Audio announced the release of its new UAD Software v9.1, now with Apollo multi-unit support over Thunderbolt for Windows 10 systems, Console 2 software support to users of multiple Apollo FireWire interfaces and fully qualified macOS Sierra for all Apollo and UAD-2 platforms. The professional audio recording hardware and software manufacturer also announced bountiful new plug-ins from SSL, Moog, Softube, and Brainworx.

First day of NAMM 2017, and Universal Audio unveiled its new Apollo Twin MkII desktop audio interface, a much improved version of the popular Apollo Twin, introduced in 2014. The new MkII version delivers next-generation 24-bit/192 kHz AD/DA audio conversion with Unison Technology, Realtime UAD Processing, now up to UAD-2 QUAD processing, talkback functionality, and improved monitoring functions to Mac and Windows users over Thunderbolt 2.
