NXP Semiconductors announced that the first multi-device vehicle wireless charging solution driven by a single MWCT controller is now available in production vehicles. The solution charges two mobile devices simultaneously at up to 2x15 Watts using a single MWCT controller and supports all Qi wireless charging enabled phones including latest iPhone models, and products from Samsung, Huawei and others. Optional NFC is available for convenience features such as BLE/Wi-Fi pairing, smart car access with NFC, in-car purchases and NFC card damage protection.

Mass production of this new product is scheduled to begin in 2020. Applications can be valuable in wearables devices and compact audio players, among many other products that require large numbers of more compact capacitors.

Spring 2020 Smart Audio Report Finds Smart Speaker Usage Growing

With more than 60 million adults A18+ in the U.S. now owning a smart speaker, new research from The Smart Audio Report reveals how the outbreak of COVID-19 and quarantine measures are disrupting routines and shifting consumer behaviors. Other key findings from the Spring 2020 Report reveal that usage of voice commands in general has increased slightly since the pandemic, with 52% of voice-assistant users saying they use voice tech several times a day or nearly every day, compared to 46% before the outbreak.
