Drawmer Introduces the 1970 Dual FET Compressor and Pre-Amp at NAMM 2020

Drawmer has expanded the breadth and depth of its dynamic processing offerings with the new Drawmer 1970 Dual FET Compressor and Pre-Amp. Audio engineers will notice the similarity of the 1970’s layout to the company’s flagship 1960 Mic Pre & Vacuum Tube Compressor, and, according to the brand, it is destined to fit a similar role in applications where transparent preamps and punchy FET compression fit the bill.

Dave Erickson built his first multi-zone audio system in the early 1990s using C microprocessor code he developed on Freescale MC68HC11 microprocessors. In early 2014, he detailed how he upgraded the eight-zone system, which uses microprocessor-controlled analog circuitry.

Daniel Weiss founded Weiss Engineering in 1985. The company designs and manufactures digital audio equipment for mastering studios. Daniel graduated in 1979 with a BSEE from the HTL Rapperswil. Joined the Studer Revox company in 1979 as an Electronics Engineer. There he worked on analog anti-aliasing filters, test signal generators, sampling frequency converters and digital audio processing for a two channel DASH recorder.
