InfoComm 2020 Connected Online Event Gathers Global Pro AV Industry on a Virtual Stage

AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, hosted it’s first-ever complete virtual InfoComm show – InfoComm 2020 Connected – June 16-18, bringing together AV professionals from around the globe to learn about the latest products from top manufacturers, tune into keynotes and presentations on trends in technology and markets, and forge new relationships.

The Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE) will host its annual technical conference and exhibition on Nov. 10-12 as an interactive and immersive remote experience with a rich array of learning and networking opportunities. The unique SMPTE 2020 Experience will expand the organization's reach thanks to a promising model and unique technical platform.

AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, will open its virtual show InfoComm 2020 Connected, taking place June 16-18. The online event and virtual show will gather thought leaders from an array of pro AV disciplines representing all corners of the globe to lead conversations on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The event will represent a daring initiative from AVIXA to replace the physical show, replacing it with online showcases and a stronger focus on education presentations.

Event and trade show promoters still have a business - and it has nothing to do with media, content, or education. They are not supposed to try and do what companies should do themselves, much less become a sort of "closed-circuit broadcaster," social media booster, or podcast promoter. Talking to a closed circuit is exactly the reason why companies need a trade show: to break the loop. That is also the reason why companies need media - to amplify their messages and reach new buyers and markets.
