InfoComm 2020 Connected Ready to Offer Online Alternative to the Real Thing

June 15 2020, 00:20
AVIXA, the Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association, will open its virtual show InfoComm 2020 Connected, taking place June 16-18. The online event and virtual show will gather thought leaders from an array of pro AV disciplines representing all corners of the globe to lead conversations on the opportunities and challenges facing the industry. The event will represent a daring initiative from AVIXA to replace the physical show, replacing it with online showcases and a stronger focus on education presentations. The online event will showcase top manufacturers’ pro AV products and solutions, hold training and thought-leadership presentations, and feature opportunities to network with professionals around the world.

"A talented assembly of industry leaders will converge for InfoComm 2020 Connected to invoke an abundance of lively and constructive conversations on the most top-of-mind issues," says Rochelle Richardson, CEM, Senior Vice President of Expositions and Events, AVIXA. "The show presents a dynamic virtual learning program designed to improve the crafts of pro AV professionals and enhance the experiences they create around the world."

Kay Sargent, Senior Principal/Director of Workspace for HOK, and member of AVIXA's Board of Directors, will be joined by Pam Light, Senior Principal, Regional Leader of Workplace, HOK, and Adriana Rojas, Principal Director of Interiors, HOK, to discuss what technology experts need to know about the future of workplace design, especially given the current COVID-19 crisis. They will examine technology trends through a design lens, exploring the factors that are spurring the evolution of the workspace.

In the session "Your Socially Distant Workforce," Joshua Weisberg, President of Navolo Audio Video, Rich Tate, Managing Director of Show Services, LMG, and Michelle E. Christian, Account Manager for EVENTEQ, will discuss how the post-COVID-19 live events environment will require a different workforce deployment than in the past. Event vendors will have to find methods for providing adequate numbers of not only qualified, but certifiably healthy event staff. The conversation will tackle issues, such as what happens if your number one technician is turned away from the jobsite when they don't pass the health check?

Moderator Brock McGinnis, Principal, avitaas inc., will be joined by Joe Dunbar, Senior Account Executive, Diversified, and Victoria Ferrari, Senior Account Executive, Conference Technologies, to discuss how the AV industry has stepped up to help communities and businesses continue to connect and prosper during the widespread quarantine. This session will center on how integrators have extended empathy and generosity to their customers in this time of crisis and how they can rebuild their revenue streams without damaging those relationships as some states and regions begin to reopen.

In addition to the education program, InfoComm 2020 Connected will host a virtual trade show where pro AV companies will present their products and solutions in virtual showcases and host live and on-demand exhibitor presentations. An AI matchmaking feature will recommend exhibitors to attendees based on attendees’ interests. Attendees can customize their experience and use the scheduler to request and schedule one-on-one or group meetings. There will also be several networking opportunities, including council meetings, the AVIXA Awards ceremony, and much more.

"We couldn’t imagine a year without our June show where AV professionals have the chance to learn about the latest technology and solutions, meet with each other, and share business challenges and triumphs,” says David Labuskes, CEO of AVIXA, CTS, CAE, RCDD. “Since people are unable to travel to an in-person show, we are bringing InfoComm to them. As an industry quite in tune with virtual collaboration, we’re excited for everyone to join this new edition of InfoComm.”

David Labuskes will deliver a keynote presentation about finding a better normal in the form of a digital and physical hybrid world on Tues., June 16 at 2 p.m. EDT. In addition, Sean Wargo, AVIXA’s Senior Director of Market Intelligence, will present a session on the state of the industry, highlighting key findings from the new 2020 Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA) on Wed., June 17 at 2 p.m. EDT. Jeff Day, Chairman of AVIXA’s Board of Directors and President of North of 10 Advisors, will be joined by a group of his fellow board members for a fireside chat on Thurs., June 18, at 2 p.m. EDT to discuss the future of AV. All three sessions will include live “Ask Away” sessions.

“It’s important for AVIXA to be able to easily adapt and create a new sustainable virtual experience for AV professionals from around the world to come together,” adds Rochelle Richardson, CEM, Senior Vice President of Expositions and Events, AVIXA. “With InfoComm 2020 Connected, we’ll expand our reach and offer a robust program for all regions and all AV professionals.”

To make it a truly global show, InfoComm 2020 Connected will take place from 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. EDT each day. All three days will feature regional programming for Asia-Pacific, EMEA, and Latin America. This includes AV standards sessions in German, state of the industry sessions in Italian and French, discussions on the relationship among content, space, and technology in the Latin American market in Spanish, and Q&A sessions with AVIXA instructors and EMEA regional managers.

InfoComm 2020 Connected will also present “New Tech Lightning Rounds,” where exhibitors will present their most exciting products in categories including conferencing and collaboration, audio, higher education, and more. Attendees will be able to compare solutions side by side and get answers to their questions live.

The winners of the inaugural AV Experience Awards will gather for a panel discussion on Tues., June 16, to share their stories on employing AV to create various types of experiences – from dynamic art to individualized.

InfoComm 2020 Connected is free to attend and the virtual platform will remain live June 19-August 21 for attendees to browse exhibitor showcases and view on-demand sessions. Registrations are available at www.infocommshow.org/register
