Top management at Messe Frankfurt is hoping that the pandemic will end soon, allowing the company to return to its normal business activities and generate revenue. While the first trade show to return to one of the world's best fairgrounds will be Prolight+Sound, scheduled to return 26 to 29 April 2022, Musikmesse will now definitely be left behind. Market research firm Parks Associates released its latest Consumer Insights Dashboard, a new ongoing service that analyzes the firm's quarterly surveys of 10,000 US broadband households to track consumer adoption of home devices and services. Its Consumer Electronics Dashboard reveals that among the most commonly adopted CE device categories, smart TVs and smart speakers/displays showed significant growth during the COVID-19 pandemic. Smart TVs reached 56%, while smart speakers/displays reached 53%.

As more and more trade shows scheduled for the last quarter of 2021 are being cancelled (or should be), the industry is moving on and starting to plan for 2022. The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) announced that The NAMM Show, the annual “family reunion” of the global music, sound, and entertainment technology industry, will reconvene in Anaheim, California at the Anaheim Convention Center on June 3–5, 2022.

High End Munich Show Postponed From September 2021 to May 2022

The High End 2021 trade show, planned to take place in Munich from September 9 to 12, 2021, has now been moved to May 2022 due to the ongoing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. The new parallel event, the IPS – International Parts + Supply, is also postponed. The High End Society Service GmbH reached this decision after a reassessment of the current situation and in close cooperation with the Board of the High End Society.
