BdSound Introduces Microphone Bubbles In-Car Voice Experiences

Enjoying a deserved recognition in the automotive market, and successful collaborations with 15 world-renowned OEMs, Italian company BdSound introduced a new advanced feature to improve the car experience even more. Expanding its Simply Sounds Clear set of technologies and algorithms, BdSound now offers Microphone Bubbles, a way to isolate each passenger’s voice inside the vehicle, allowing calls and voice recognition for all occupants in a car.

As audio systems are expanding to integrate Active Noise Control (ANC), Advanced Driver-Assistance Systems (ADAS), and Acoustic Vehicle Alert Systems (AVAS) for quiet car sound design and autonomous driver alerts, Krunal Maniar (Silicon Labs) writes about Vehicle Electrification and Active Noise Cancellation, which are currently two key driving forces fostering innovation in In-Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) systems. To ensure a base level of functionality and quality of in-car communication (ICC) systems, the ITU-T International Standardization Sector has defined appropriate tests in Recommendation P.1150. German audio test and measurement solutions company HEAD acoustics has now implemented this recommendation in its ACQUA software with automated test sequences that can be applied for communication quality analysis, thus enabling comprehensive acoustic measurements of ICC systems and components.

HEAD acoustics is promoting a new free online seminar dedicated to communications under noisy conditions, evaluation of the listening effort, and detailing the company's own efforts towards a perceptual-based method targeting the objective prediction of that listening effort under variable communication conditions and using different devices.
