Samsung Rounds out the Home Theater Experience with Curved Soundbars

The market leader by volume in LCD, LED and more recently in UHD TV’s continues to push the boundaries of TV innovation. In 2015, Samsung introduced its line of premium Curved SUHD TVs. And what could be better to complement curved TV’s? Well... matching curved soundbars of course!

Dolby Laboratories announced Dolby Cinema, a branded premium cinema offering for exhibitors that intends to combine the latest image and sound technologies with the best acoustics and design to improve the cinema experience. Dolby has confirmed that Christie will supply new 4K HDR projection technologies and the first installation in The Netherlands also features Dolby Atmos with Christie Vive audio speakers and Class D amplifiers.

The Audio Engineering Society (AES), known for its benchmark annual conventions and conferences, runs additional educational events throughout the rest of the year covering such key topics as spatial audio; audio for video games; the shifting audio landscape of cinema, television and the Internet; and more.

Award-winning film sound engineer Dennis S. Sands has upgraded his private Sound Waves SB studio with a new multi-channel Meyer Sound cinema loudspeaker system for mixing in Dolby Atmos. The Atmos integration using existing components for the audio distribution, processing and monitoring chain was successfully achieved using Dante audio network technology.

During the recent CineEurope cinema convention (June 16 to 19) in Barcelona, Spain, QSC Audio previewed the newest member of its SR Series surround loudspeaker family, the SR-1290, in direct response to new audio requirements created by immersive sound formats, in a cost-effective and compact loudspeaker enclosure.
