Glensound Debuts Greater Divine Intelligent Network Audio Monitor

Heading up to another IBC show in Amsterdam, Glensound will introduce the Greater Divine Intelligent Network Audio Monitor, significantly expanding the possibilities for Dante-connected systems. Glensound launched the Divine in 2019, the first network-connected, self-powered audio monitor, which has proven very popular. The Greater Divine is a larger 30 watts two-way design, powered by PoE+ with 8 Dante input channels.

Glensound, the dynamic British manufacturer of audio networked systems is, once again, demonstrating its agility by introducing new and upgraded products much influenced by customer feedback. For NAB 2024, the company is using the opportunity to introduce new products for the broadcast market, expanding its range of Dante/AES67 audio-over-IP (AoIP) interfaces, now an essential ingredient in broadcast and installation applications.

At ISE 2020, audioXpress found Glensound once again with a booth that looks like a dream supermarket for those already working with Dante and AES67 audio networks. And from the same British company that already offers the Athens 2 twin RIAA phono preamplifier with Dante/AES67 outputs (!), now comes the Divine, a new monitor speaker that connects to these networks.

During my time at the Integrated Systems Europe (ISE) 2019 show, I looked closely at how companies are dealing with the transition to IP networks, how prevalent some proprietary technologies still are in commercial installation and AV in particular (e.g., HDBaseT), and how manufacturers are introducing new products and concepts to integrate those networked systems, in particular those protocols that support AES67 audio and the latest SMPTE ST-2110 suite of standards in general.
