Poikosoft’s EZ CD Audio Converter Software Now Supports xHE-AAC Audio Codec from Fraunhofer IIS

Fraunhofer recently licensed its xHE-AAC implementation to Poikosoft, makers of the EZ CD Audio Converter software that allows users to convert files into many lossless and compressed audio formats. With xHE-AAC encoding and decoding, users of EZ CD Audio Converter 9.3 will gain access to the best-performing general audio codec available today. The Converter also fully supports the xHE-AAC loudness metadata, with which users can adapt content playback to the listening situation and dynamic range available.

Using the extra time available for development allowed by the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions on other activities, German developer DirectOut has greatly expanded the capabilities of its PRODIGY Series with the release of new firmware for both the PRODIGY.MC (Modular Audio Converter) and PRODIGY.MP (Multifunction Audio Processor). The result, the company says, is a "prodigious" evolution, with both firmware and software updates that considerably expand features, redundancy, and versatility.

Waves Audio has joined forces with networking, routing and conversion specialist DirectOut Technologies to include Waves SoundGrid technology in DirectOut’s SG.MADI converter. DirectOut Technologies' latest development, SG.MADI, is an audio format converter that links MADI signals with Waves SoundGrid Audio-over-Ethernet. The unit includes analog I/Os allow for immediate interfacing with the network audio and the MADI signal, including two microphone inputs.
